Tintwistle Cricket Club

tcc logo

Tintwistle Cricket Club was formed in 1835 and is located on Speedwell in the village of Tintwistle. Tintwistle (or 'Tinsle' as locals call it) is located in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, at the western end of the Longendale Valley. A section of the village sits within the Peak District national park boundary and is a designated conservation area.

At Tintwistle CC we are very proud of our heritage and history. If you're interested to find out a little more about some of our past players, please visit the history section on our our website or The Vault - Tintwistle CC's Statistics Archive – www.tintwistlecc.org. The Vault contains records for over 1060 players who have played for our club dating right back to our formation in 1835.

We currently run first and second eleven senior teams who play on Saturdays (and Sundays for Cup Games) and four junior teams (under 17's, under 15's, under 13's & under 11's). All our teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League with our first eleven playing in the first division of the DCCL.

We have fantastic practice facilities, including two artificial practice nets and a bowling machine and warmly welcome new members whatever your standard. Senior practice is held on the ground on Thursday evenings, from April to September and indoor winter nets start in February and run up to the start of the season in April. If you're interested in coming along please contact us and get in touch with our Secretary or one of our club captains. We're always interested in hearing from new players.

We also have a strong junior section managed by ECB qualified coaches and hold dedicated weekly coaching sessions on Tuesday evenings during the summer, overseen by ECB qualified and coaches. Parents should note that it is our aim to introduce cricket to a wide range of young people and that children of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend our coaching sessions.

One of our proudest achievements as a club is that Andrew 'AJ' Harris started as a junior and then senior player at Tintwistle CC before going on to play for England A, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire and is currently Derbyshire Second Team Coach.

On the social side we organise a number of events throughout the year including a comedy night, sportsman evening, annual dinner, race nights and barbecues and we always have a well stocked bar so even if you're a non-playing member you can call by and take in some cricket whilst relaxing with a cool drink under the infamous sun trap - 'The White Wall'

We look forward to welcoming you.
